NUFC ‘exclusive’ reveals the club Elias Sorensen has agreed to join on loan – A good move?

By | 16th August 2019

According to an ‘exclusive’ from Football Insider, Elias Sorensen has now agreed to join Carlisle on loan.

The 19-year-old bagged over 20 goals last season for club (NUFC U-23’s) and country (Denmark’s U-21’s), with the right loan move seeming vital at this stage of his career given he’s well down the pecking order at first-team level.

Here’s a snippet from Peter O’Rourke’s new piece for Football Insider, claiming the League Two side ‘moved quickly’ to agree a deal after several Football League sides showed interest:

Newcastle United striker Elias Sorensen has agreed a deal to join Carlisle on loan, Football Insider understands.

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce is happy to loan out the highly-rated Sorensen as he is well down the pecking order at St James’ Park.

A number of Football League clubs have made enquiries for Sorensen, but a Newcastle source has told Football Insider that League Two Carlisle have moved quickly to agree a deal with the club for the Denmark Under-21 international.

Some may feel he’s better than League Two – and they may well be right – but game time is absolutely essential at this stage, with him only playing once during his disastrous loan spell with League One side Blackpool earlier this year.

Good luck to the lad. He seems a natural goalscorer and a player with the potential to have a bright future on Tyneside.

Let’s hope this loan move works out much better than his spell with Blackpool.
